Excerpt: The Ancient Ruins is the setting from Disney's 1967 movie The Jungle Book, its sequel, and televsion series. Akela is a wolf and a character from the 1967 Disney film, The Jungle Book. Akela, like the other wolves, is seen at the beginning of the film. He appears when the pack learns that Shere Khan had returned to the jungle. Akela states that Shere Khan wants to kill Mowgli and not even the strength of the entire pack could fight him off, so he has Bagheera take Mowgli away. After this scene, Akela and the other wolves are not seen again throughout the film. Akela and his mate Leia appear in the episode The Coming of the Wolves. Where they leave their pack because their leader who wants Leia for himself. Akela and Leia settled down in the lair without knowing it belongs to the cubs. When the wolves arrive at the lair and plan to attack Akelah, Leah and the cubs he stands up to them and tells them to get out of the jungle. Just then Leia goes into labor and has wolf puppies. Shere Khan then tells Akelah that he and Leia can stay at the lair. As a reward for the cubs'kindess Akelah makes...
